ABOUT US
Our History
RC Millwork is a family owned and operated business based in Victoria, BC. Proprietor Ray Major started the company in 2007. Ray was born in Bow Island, Alberta and grew up in Calgary. His passion for woodwork began at an early age: his first kitchen, built while he was still in grade 12, earned him the Calgary General Contractors Award of Achievement.
After graduation, Ray worked for Triune Wood Industries. He started his apprenticeship in November 1989 at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. In February 1993, Ray completed the apprenticeship program and received a journeyman cabinetmaker certification.
In 1996, Ray returned to S.A.I.T and passed the exams for the Canadian Interprovincial Red Seal for Cabinetmaking. In the years since then, Ray has honed his skills and acquired valuable experience working for several Calgary employers, including Evans Consoles, Executive Millwork, and Cedarglen Homes. After moving to Victoria, Ray took on the position of Production Manager at C & S Kitchens and Millwork.
With over twenty years’ experience in the woodworking industry, Ray has the same passion today as when he started. This passion is reflected in the quality and attention to detail you will see in his work.
